The Catalan institutions working in the field of Photonics: Universities UPC, UAB and UB and Institute of Photonic Sciences ICFO, combining their complementary expertise in the field, offer a Master in Photonics, of 60 ECTS, which was initiated in 2007-08. UPC is the coordinating institution, and the Master is given in English.
PHOTONICS as a science and technology of Light, is one of the disciplines that are playing a growing and crucial role in the technological development of the twenty-first century. Photonics has been selected as one of the "Key-Enabling Technologies" by the European Union. The Master provides different elective itineraries to promote entrepreneurship among students in Photonics as well as the training of future researchers in the field.
