Description of the developing practices and experiments

We are designing and developing three specific printed circuit boards which can implement 18 laboratory activities of electronics, with their LabView remote panels.


Laboratory activities BOARD 1 LVRS-01

Collection of practices and experiments on characterization of several electrical and electronic components:

  • Study of the characteristic voltage - current (V/I) of a resistor.
  • ­ Study of the characteristic voltage - current (V/I) of a silicon diode. Direct and inverse polarization.
  • ­ Study characteristic voltage - current (V/I) of a germanium diode. Direct and inverse polarization.
  • ­ Study of the characteristic V/I of a LED diode.
  • ­ Study of the characteristic V/I of a Zener diode.
  • Study of the capacitor operation. Charge and discharge curves. RC constant.

Laboratory activities BOARD 2 LVRS-02

Collection of practices and experiments on applications with diodes: rectifier and limiter circuits, as well as the study of a stabilized power supply.

  • Study and analysis of circuits with diodes: half-wave rectifier.
  • Study and analysis of circuits with diodes: full-wave rectifier.
  • Study and analysis of circuits with diodes: limiter circuits.
  • Applications of the capacitor: Filtering in power supply. Influence of the capacitance value. Parallel capacitor connection.
  • Stabilizing circuits in power supply.
Laboratory activities BOARD 3 LVRS-03

Collection of practices and experiments about the transistor:

  • ­ Polarization and operation of the transistor.
  • ­ Fundamental parameters of the transistor.
  • ­ Study and acquisition of the typical curves of different transistors: IC/VCE - IC/I-  IC/VCE - VCE//VBE - IB//VBE
  • ­ Load line a transistor. Working point.
  • ­ Calculation of the base resistance for the polarization of a transistor.
  • ­ Determination of the amplification factor of a transistor.
  • ­ Study and analysis of several transistors working as amplifiers.
Other practices and experiments currently being studied and developed
  • Material testing. Determination of the strain-stress characteristic.
  • ­ Study of the behaviour of several sensors: pressure, temperature…
  • ­ Measurement and control of temperature: PID regulator.
  • ­ Comparison of energetic efficiency of different lamps.
